Our future is being threatened by climate change, global warming trends and the depletion of our natural resources.

Sparta Country Candles has always been committed to adopting environmentally friendly strategies geared toward recycling, reducing energy usage and waste.

Environmental initiatives at our store front:

• Sparta Country Candles was the first candle maker to develop a reusable container that can be used multiple times with our candle refill saving both money and the environment
• We use soy chips for shipping – which are environmentally friendly and stop the need for bubble wrap or foam chips
• If we do need to use bubble wrap, it is bubble wrap we save from orders that we receive
• We have a structured maintenance program on all vehicles to ensure they are safe and running as efficiently as possible
• We decrease store lighting in the summer
• We have installed energy efficient windows
• We have installed programmable thermostats and automatic door closers
• We reuse recycled cardboard boxes for shipping whenever we can
• We recycle and reuse all packaging material
• We educate our customers on ways to use leftover wax
• We recycle paper and office supplies and compost
• We use reusable storage containers to store inventory and supplies
• We have switched the store area over to energy saving light bulbs
• Older buildings have older windows and those we have not replaced have an extra layer of protection helping us cut back on our heating and cooling costs

Environmental initiatives at our candle manufacturing shop:

• We use over 98% of our excess wax in products
• We recycle and reuse all packaging material
• We use timers to decrease hydro consumption
• We have installed programmable thermostats, weather stripping and automatic door closers so only prime areas are heated/cooled
• We re-evaluate all work areas and procedures on a regular basis during the year to ensure the shop is as energy efficient as possible
• We strategically use fans to cool our product and work areas
• We have installed light filtering blinds
• We have switched all work areas over to energy saving light bulbs
